Midtown Market Now Open

Did you know that there is a weekly open air market in the heart of Midtown?  The Midtown Market features local artisans, antiques, handcrafted items, edibles and much more.  The Market is open every Friday night from 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m., Saturdays 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Farmer's Market), Saturday evenings from 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. and Sundays from noon to sunset.  The market is located at 811 Peachtree Street, between 5th & 6th Streets. 

The Midtown Market is produced by the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces.  They have other outdoor markets across Atlanta including Atlantic Station, Decatur, Kirkwood and coming soon to Stone Mountain and Sandy Springs.

The City of Smyrna's Fall Jonquil Festival will feature over 150 artists/crafters from across the country, a harvest market, children's activities, food, music and much more!  The festival will take place in the Smyrna Market Village on West Spring Street.  Dave FMis hosting an Acoustic Sunset concert starting at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon - what a great way to end the weekend!

S.A.N.D., South Atlantans for Neighborhood Development, is sponsoring their annual Tour of Homes.  S.A.N.D. is composed of seven, intown neighborhoods including Benteen Park, Boulevard Heights, McDonough-Guice, North Ormewood Park, Ormewood Park, Woodland Hills and the new Glenwood Park.  This is a great opportunity to discover some of the wonderful neighborhoods just south of I-20 and east of downtown Atlanta.

The Candler Park Neighborhood Association presents it's annual Fall Fest and Tour of Homes.  The Fall Fest will include a road race, an artists market, children's activities, food, music and a Tour of Homes.  The festival will be at Candler Park on McLendon Avenue.  The Tour of Homeswill be on Sunday only and will feature nine homes including a loft on Dekalb Avenue.

Morningside Lenox Park Tour of Homes

The Morningside Lenox Park Association is hosting it's annual tour of homes featuring four homes from the 1920's - 1940's and four newer homes.  There will also be an antique car show at Haygood Memorial United Methodist Church. 

NEW THIS YEAR!  The Inaugural Monumental Ball on Friday, October 10, 2008, at Magnolia Hall in Piedmont Park.  The ball will feature one of my favorite local bands, KINGSIZED.  Proceeds from the ball will benefit MLPA monument preservation, and the cash bar proceeds will benefit the Piedmont Park Conservancy.
